Highway Patrol sets May sobriety checkpoints

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- The South Dakota Highway Patrol has scheduled sobriety checkpoints next month in several counties.
• The Highway Patrol says it will conduct checks in Brown, Butte, Clay, Codington, Custer, Davison, Day, Fall River and Hughes counties.
• In addition, sobriety points will take place in the counties of Jerauld, Lawrence, Minnehaha, Moody, Pennington, Roberts, Sanborn, Spink and Walworth.

Research to be presented at biotech summit

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- The South Dakota Biotechnology Association will incorporate a research presentation event into its annual state biotechnology summit.
• The poster session at the October 25 summit will focus on energy, animal science, food and agriculture and human health research.
