Meeting Minutes

City of Columbia Council Meeting

March 6, 2018    7pm

CALL MEETING TO ORDER – 7:10 p.m.

ROLL CALL – Andrew Davis, Ellen Harr, Tyler Kampa, Cole Kampa, Corey Mitchell, Cara Dennert  Public attending – Jeremy Dosch

Corey Mitchell called the meeting to order.  He read the minutes from the February meeting.  Cara Dennert had the corrections of 2 bills that were not listed in the vouchers – US Treasury – 492.42 and Wolf Construction – 46,752.34  Tyler Kampa made a motion to accept the minutes as corrected.  Cole Kampa seconded the motion.  All in favor – motion carried.

WARRANT VOUCHERS 

Jeremy Dosch –419.99 ; Cara Dennert – 823.50; Corey Mitchell – 208.85;  Drew Johnson – 150.00;  SD Unemployment Division – 21.34;  Wolf Construction – 30,808.31;  Northwestern Energy – 732.63 and 20.11 ; Full Circle Ag – 265.31;  Double Duty – 125.00;  GDI News – 23.64 and 67.52;  JVT – 145.90;  Runnings – 16.69;  Web Water – 24.72 and 25.36

Andrew Davis made a motion approve the vouchers as submitted. Ellen Harr seconded the motion.  All in favor – motion carried.

COMMUNITY COMMENTS - none

CORESPONDENCE – letter from Agtegra 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS - none

Nuisances – snow!  Cole is going to pick up signs this week.  He also wondered about tagging vehicles – decision was to wait until weather gets nicer (maybe they will be taken care of by then.)

Streets – they have all been plowed – should be good for a while

Parks – Corey talked to Corey at Schwan’s about some replacement posts and gates 

Lagoon/sewer – a discharge won’t happen until a thaw – we won’t test this year (only every 2)

Sewer accounts – nothing new

Rubble Site – plans to burn the rubble site soon – should be putting up new gates.

New Shop – Corey talked about the cost to fix the insulation issue.  Al’s Electric wanted to get in and start work.

NEW BUSINESS

There was some discussion on the Christmas lights/decorations.  May look at different options this summer.

FINANCIAL REPORT – was presented and approved.  

Cole Kampa made a motion to adjourn.  Ellen Harr seconded the motion.  All were in favor – meeting adjourned.
