the same minister that baptized and confirmed both Harlan and Kathleen. • During the 1960s, while working for First National Bank of Aberdeen, S.D., he worked at their branches in Groton, S.D., and Milbank, S.D., while also attending the University of Wisconsin School of Banking for two-week stretches in the summers. • The family moved to Olivia in 1972 where Harlan was involved in the opening of a new bank, American State Bank, with a high school classmate. Harlan and Kathleen later spent two years in Fairfax, before moving to Lewiston, here he served as president of the Security State Bank until his retirement in 1996. • After his retirement, much of his time was spent golfing, a love and respect he passed onto his sons, and following the many school activities of his eight grandchildren. He was an avid Twins, Vikings and Gophers fan and was able to see his Twins play in three different stadiums. Harlan was very active in each and every community that he lived, serving on numerous church boards and committees, chambers of commerce, school boards and the Lions' Club. He was still an active member of the Security State Bank Board of Directors upon his death. • He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings. Harlan is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Behlings); his four children, Joel (Gail) of Blaine, Kurt (Sheri) of Aberdeen, S.D., Gregg of Salem, S.D., and Beth (Bruce) Sherden of Rochester; one sister, Arlene Oleson; eight grandchildren, Paul Drube, Jill Apolloni, April Begordis, Levi Drube, Lauren Drube, Eric Sherden, Adam Sherden and Ryan Sherden; and one great-grandchild, Spencer Apolloni. •
