Sioux Falls teen arrested in large drug bust
• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- A 17-year-old is in juvenile custody in Sioux Falls after police say they found more than a quarter pound of marijuana and a loaded gun in his vehicle. • Officers pulled over the teen on Thursday night for having heavily tinted windows. They say they found nine bags of marijuana in the vehicle, along with hashish, drug paraphernalia, a .357-caliber handgun and $575 in cash. • The teen was arrested on various drug charges and a weapons count. •
Daktronics systems being used at World Cup venues
• BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) -- Brookings-based Daktronics Inc. has a presence at the World Cup international soccer competition. • Multiple first-round matches are being played in two stadiums in Brazil equipped with Daktronics-made video display systems. An official with Daktronics Brazil calls it "a great honor." • Daktronics makes and services video display systems for customers around the world, including several professional sports teams in the U.S. •
Woman found in burning home in Tea hospitalized
• TEA, S.D. (AP) -- A woman found unresponsive in a burning home in Tea has been hospitalized with unspecified injuries. • A police officer who responded to the scene about 7:30 a.m. Friday found the woman unresponsive in a bed and administered CPR until a medical crew arrived to take her to the hospital. • Authorities said she is about 50 years old. Neighbors said her husband was out of town.
