providers, we turned down the program.  This is wrong.  We can still do this and I hope we will.  The economic benefit to SD would be enormous. 
• There are a lot of reasons to be proud of SD but we should not be proud of how we turned down help for the many people that need it the most.  Dreams do come true in SD for many but many are also suffering extreme hardships.  Many of our best and most talented graduates chose to leave the state where they find higher salaries and more equitable treatment.  We had too many bills this past session that were negative toward certain groups of people and embarrassing to our state.  We spent too much time trying to fight off this type of legislation and not enough time solving serious problems. 
• District 2 has so much to offer.   Let's all work together to make it a better place for all of our residents.
