Rain developing in the eastern U.S. with severe thunderstorms possible in the Gulf Coast and Southeast Sunday into Monday • After a tranquil start to the weekend, a storm system in the southern U.S. will begin to intensify over the lower Mississippi River Valley on Sunday. Rain, heavy at times, will spread northward from the Gulf Coast all the way to New England by Monday.
