Online forum to discuss credit for new farmers
• WASHINGTON (AP) -- Officials with the U.S. Department of Agriculture will host an online forum to discuss types of credit and financing options available to new farmers and ranchers. • The Google+ Hangout is scheduled for 4 p.m. Tuesday. • Agriculture officials say the discussion will cover credit and financial options from the USDA as well as outside groups including the Farm Credit Council. • Officials say farmers and ranchers who have already received a credit from these sources will offer advice to others during the forum. • People interested in joining the discussion should visit the USDA's Google+ page or go to www.usda.gov/live . • Questions can be submitted ahead of time through social media. •
Orange barrel season arrives to Sioux Falls Monday
• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Orange barrel season has arrived to South Dakota's largest city. • Sioux Falls authorities say the city's street improvement program will begin Monday. • KELO-TV (http://bit.ly/1jnfOa6 ) reports construction will start on West 41st Street from Ellis Road to east of Grinnell Avenue. This project will widen 41st Street from Ellis Road to Sertoma Avenue. • When the project is finished in October, 41st Street will have four lanes, a center median, turn and bike lanes. Traffic meanwhile will be diverted to 26th Street. • Officials say Tenth Street and Sycamore Avenue will also be under construction. A right turn lane and dual left turn lanes will be added.
