• BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) -- Sioux Falls O'Gorman's suffocating defense led to a 60-35 win over Rapid City Stevens Thursday at the South Dakota Class AA girls basketball tournament. • O'Gorman (17-6) held the Raiders (14-10) to just 23 percent shooting from the field. The Knights forced 13 turnovers and out-rebounded the Raiders 43-28. • Ten O'Gorman players scored, with eight notching between five and nine points. Dalee Stene led the way with nine points. • Marissa Hirchert had 14 points and six rebounds for Stevens. Virginia Vifquain made just 4 of 14 shots, but finished with 10 points. •
Sanborn Central-Woonsocket advances at state B
• HURON, S.D. (AP) -- Rachel Selland and Myah Selland combined for 27 points as Sanborn Central-Woonsocket coasted to a 52-27 win over Kimball-White Lake Thursday at the South Dakota Class B girls basketball tournament. • Rachel Selland had 14 points and eight rebounds for Blackhawks (23-1). She was 6 of 11 from the field and handed out four assists. Myah Selland had 13 points and six boards. • The Blackhawks led 27-13 at the half. • Ivy Haines was the only player in double figures for Kimball-White Lake (15-8) with 11 points. She also had a team-high six rebounds. • It's the first time at state for the Wildkats co-op. •
Elk Point-Jefferson rolls by Webster Area 77-30
