• Langford held a 16-15 first quarter lead, a 36-30 lead at half time and a 43-40 lead at the end of the third quarter.
• Groton's Kyler Ell led the Tigers with 20 points followed by Spencer Knecht with nine, Reilly Ell had eight, Kasey Kurtz five and Mason Madsen and Wyatt Lone each had four.
• Planteen led the Lions with 18 points followed by Fries with 13, Brian Anderson had eight, Dante Blanchard and Jordan Carson each had four and Chase Larson and Zach Punt each had two points.
• Groton made 48 percent of its field goals compared to 40 percent for the Lions. The Tigers were four of 10 from the line for 40 percent off of Langford's 13 team fouls. Langford was eight of 11 from the line for 73 percent off of Groton's 13 team fouls.
• Both teams had eight assists with Reilly Ell having two for Groton and Fries four for Langford.
• Groton had 12 turnovers with eight being steals (two each by Fries, Planteen and Olson) and Langford had nine turnovers, six of which were steals with six different players having one.
• Langford had the slight edge in rebounds, 26-25, with Planteen having a double feature night to have 111 rebounds with his 18 points. Reilly Ell had six for Groton.
• Groton won the junior varsity game, 37-36.

Lady Tigers dominate Langford

Groton's Lady Tigers had its highest scoring game of the season and even tied with the boys for the most points scored in a game as Groton defeated Langford, 77-35.
All of Groton's players saw a lot of playing time as it was the non-starters who led the Tigers win scoring with Audrey Wanner powering in four three-pointers to score 19 points and Tori Bjerke had 11 points. Scoring eight points each were Carly Wheeting, Camille Sippel, Courtney Kurtz and Katie Koehler. Ashley Gibbs had seven points, Marle Jones had four and Halle Dohman and Kylie Hawkins each had two points.
Tess Williams led the Lions with 16 points followed by Savannah Bivens with 10, Mandi Nelson had seven and Brandy Peterson two.
Groton made 23 of 44 field goals, had 28 rebounds with Bjerke having six, 18 steals with Koehler having three, 14 assists with Kurtz having three and 14 turnovers. The Tigers were six of 12 from the line and had 10 team fouls.
Groton won the junior varsity game, 36-10. Scoring for Groton were Taryn Rossow with 12, Marlee Jones six, Katie Koehler five, Emily Locke amd Rachel Blackmun four each, Audrey Wanner three and Maryn Howard 2.
