• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- A South Dakota man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison after being convicted of conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine.
• Thirty-seven-year-old Larry Wayne Alver, of Marion, pleaded guilty earlier to the conspiracy charge.
• U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says Alver bought and distributed methamphetamine. Johnson says Alver also facilitated distribution of methamphetamine by introducing his supplier to another dealer.
• The case was investigated by the Sioux Falls Police Department, the state Division of Criminal Investigation and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- The Davison County Sheriff's Office is receiving $21,500 to purchase mobile video units to be used in drug investigations.
• South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley says the money comes from the Drug Control Fund, which assists local law enforcement departments in drug control and apprehension purposes.
• Jackley says the fund helps law enforcement officers protect communities from crime using from money taken from criminal activity.
• Davison County Sheriff Steve Brink says the new video equipment fleet will make it easier and more efficient for deputies to collect evidence, both video and audio.
