It showed, as the Bonnies outscored the Coyotes 38-14 in the paint and had a 43-28 edge in rebounds. • The Coyotes found little relief from the 3-point arc, hitting just 4 of 18 for 22.2 percent and shooting only 33.3 percent overall. The Bonnies also didn't shoot well from 3-point distance but were better overall at 42.1 percent. • Marquise Simmons and Dion Wright scored 12 points for the Bonnies. South Dakota State blanks Indiana State 29-0
• BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) -- Zach Zenner rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown as South Dakota State rolled to a 29-0 win over Indiana State on Saturday. • Zenner's touchdown gave South Dakota State (6-4, 3-3 Missouri Valley Football Conference) a 9-0 lead late in the first quarter, and the Jackrabbits added two second quarter field goals to take a 15-0 halftime lead. • SDSU held the Sycamore offense to just 161 total yards in notching its first shutout since a 21-0 win over North Dakota in 2010. • "Very disappointed in our offense," said Indiana State coach Mike Sanford, whose team was just 4-for-16 on third downs. "We're not effective on offense. We've got to be able to convert on third down." • The SDSU special teams unit also had a big day, blocking a field goal and a punt. • Austin Sumner connected with Jason Schneider for a 25-yard touchdown in the third quarter and Isaac Rodriguez scored his first touchdown of the season in the fourth quarter to round out the scoring. • Sumner had 207 yards passing, and surpassed the 7,000 yard passing mark for his career. He completed 16 of 25 passes without an interception. • Schneider led all receivers with 110 yards on seven catches. • Zenner carried 28 times. The reigning FCS rushing champion has 1,372 yards this season. • The Jackrabbits held Indiana State (1-9, 0-6) to just 56 yards passing. Indiana State starting quarterback Mike Perish was hurt early in the game and his replacement, Robert Tonyan Jr., completed just 5 of 20 passes and was intercepted once. • Perish completed both of his pass attempts before he suffered what Sanford said after the game was a concussion.
