Kurtz and Kylie Hawkins each had a tip-over. Britton-Hecla was over-hitting the ball, having net violations and hitting serves into the net as Groton went on to win, 25-19.
• "We were talking on the way up here that if we get off to a good start, we do pretty well," Helvig said. "We've done all the hard work. We just have to show up on the court and take care of business.  It's not anything we have to learn new. I was very, very happy with that match. This was our top two or top match of the year."
• Groton will now play Sisseton on Tuesday, 7 p.m., in Britton for the Region 1A championship game.
• Helvig said, "Like Coach Joel Guthmiller tells the girls, the first 20 matches are just warm-ups. The real ball starts at regions and that's exactly it. The girls are really starting to buy into that and believe that.  Now we have just one more before state."
• The results from the match were not available.
