Math RtL is a new program at elementary school
• Several teachers gave presentations on SPECIAL education. iPads are huge motivators for the students in special education. It was also reported that there are eight students in grades six through 12 and four in the elementary school who require someone to be with them all day. • There are 41 students in the Math RtI. It is a new program and Bonnie Schimmel said , "We are charting new territory." The program is set up for K-2. • "It's in the constitution for the state to pay its bills and pay for educating its citizens," Superintendent Joe Schwan said, "and we seem to be scraping the bottom of the barrel." Schwan talked about the education funding formula study that was recently completed. There seems to be no agreement on how to increase teacher's pay, Schwan said. • Elementary Principal reported that the elementary school raised $1,048.10 through the Boxtops for Education Fall Collection. The first grade collected the most with 4,081. • The Veteran's Day program will have a free breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the elementary school. The program will be held at the high school starting at 2:45 p.m. and lasting until the end of the school day when students will be dismissed. There will be presentation from middle school interviews of veterans, the band and chorus will perform and there may possibly be a young veteran who will be a keynote speaker.
