South Dakota man wins federal duck stamp contest
• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- A South Dakota artist is the winner of the 2013 federal duck stamp contest. • Adam Grimm, of Burbank, placed first in the annual U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service art contest. There were 202 entries. • Grimm's oil painting of a canvasback will be made into the 2014-15 federal duck stamp, which will go on sale in late June 2014. • The stamp sells for $15 and raises about $25 million each year to help conserve and protect wetlands. • It's the second time that Grimm, an Ohio native, has won the contest. His art previously appeared on the 2000-01 federal duck stamp. • The results were announced Saturday. Hoyt Smith of Tulsa, Okla., placed second and Ron Louque, of Charlottesville, Va., finished third. •
