• Groton's netters were on fire Thursday night as the Lady Tigers took care of business and put down the Deuel Cardinals in three games. • Coach Aaron Helvig was very pleased with the match. "We had everything going well for us. We looked pretty good. The only thing I could see is that we could attack the ball a little bit harder, but it was the tipping that got us the openings. I told the girls to be aggressive at the net." • Groton jumped out to a 4-0 lead and upped it to 7-2 before Deuel called time out. "We bought our whole game this time," Helvig said. I challenged the girls and told them we had to get off a good start. We needed to start off right, get on a string of serves, attack the ball and get some points." • Groton scored eight unanswered points to take a 16-5 led and went on to win the first game, 25-10. • Deuel made the second game closer for a while. The Cardinals trailed by one, 7-6 and when it was a Groton 15-10 lead, the Lady Tigers scored five unan (Continued on page 4)
