School sees 6 percent increase in Natural Gas
• Groton School Board members held a short meeting on Monday with all members present. Several contracts and work agreements were approved for amendment as teachers upgraded their education and needs changed. • Approved amending contracts for Anne Zoellner (from BS+15 to BS+30 with salary increase of $300), Shauna Remily (from BS+15 to BS+30 with salary increase of $300), Lynette Grieve (from BS+15 to BS+30 with salary increase of $300), Emily Eichler (from BS+15 to BS+30 with salary increase of $300), and Sarah Hanten (from BS to BS+15 with salary increase of $600). • Work agreements were amended for Lois Krueger (1.25 hours/day @ $9.00/hour for special education transportation) John Lowary (1.5 hours/day @ $9.00/hour for special education transportation) Linda McInerney (2.75 hours/day @ $9.00/hour for special education and junior kindergarten transportation), Lena Cox (2.25 hours/day @ $9.00/hour for special education and junior kindergarten transportation) and Randy Hjermstad (2.75 hours/day @ $9.00/hour for special education transportation). • Business Manager Mike Weber informed the board that he was able to lock in the price for gas with NorthWestern Energy at a rate of $0.506 per therm for the 2012-2013 school year. • "I was able to lock in the price at $0.506 per therm," Weber said. "That's about a six percent increase from last year's price." • The board also approved a list of items to be declared surplus and disposed of or offered for sale. The business office has the list of items. • Open enrollment applications were approved for four students, #13-13 (grade 4) from Warner School District; #13-14 (JK) from Langford School District; #13-14 (grade 1) from Aberdeen School and #13-15 (grade 11). The board also acknowledged the receipt of public school exemptions from three families, #13-03: grade K; #13-04: grades K, 2, 3, and 5; #13-05: grades 1, 2, 4, 5, and
