Netters drop fifth game to Redfield-Doland

• Groton Area and Redfield-Doland went the distance Thursday night where the Pheasants pulled out a 3-2 win over Groton in volleyball action played in Redfield.
• Groton won the first game, 25-23, lost the second, 25-17, won the third, 25-19, lost the fourth, 25-17, and lost the fifth match, 15-5.
• Groton was 103 of 135 in attacks with 29 kills. Camille Sippel was 29 of 34 with seven kills, Halle Dohman was 14 of 17 with six kills, and Kylie Hawkins was 26 of 36 with six kills.
• In serves, Groton was 84 of 87 with seven ace serves. Nikki Koehler was 21 of 21 with three aces, Kasey Waage was 19 of 20 with two aces and Camille Sippel was 14 of 16 with two aces.
• Groton had 56 digs with Kylie Hawkins having 18 and Camille Sippel 14.
• Groton was 134 of 136 in sets with 29 assists. Courtney Kurtz was 120 of 122 with 28 assists.
• Groton had three solo blocks, two by Sadie Rogers and one by Halle Dohman.
• Redfield-Doland won the junior varsity game by game scores of 25-14 and 25-17. Groton won the C match by game scores of 27-25 and 25-14.
• Groton, now 1-1, will host Roncalli on Tuesday and Deuel on Thursday.
