Sioux Falls man gets 33 years for sex trafficking
• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- A Sioux Falls man who acknowledged coercing women into the sex trade was sentenced Monday to 33 1/2 years in prison. • Tajahn Clinton, 36, also must pay $1,100 in restitution and, after prison, be on supervised release for five years. • He pleaded guilty May 15 to sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion. The plea followed two guilty verdicts in previous months from other men in sex trafficking cases that included some of the same victims, the Argus Leader reported. • Clinton was initially charged with one count of sex trafficking a child, but the list of charges grew, as did the number of alleged victims. • He victimized nine people, three of whom were minors, authorities said, and each case involved online prostitution advertisements. • "Today's sentence demonstrates that sex traffickers will pay a heavy price for victimizing women in South Dakota," said U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson. •
