Governor appoints Langer to SD House seat
• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- Gov. Dennis Daugaard says he's appointing a Dell Rapids businesswoman to a vacant South Dakota House seat. • Kris Langer will fill a District 25 vacancy created by the resignation of Rep. Jon Hansen, who resigned effective Aug. 15 to attend the USD School of Law. • Langer is a real estate agent for LandMark Realty and Auction and has served four terms on the Dell Rapids City Council. She's also served on the Minnehaha Economic Development Association and the Dell Rapids Economic Development Board. • Daugaard says Langer is a leader in her community. • District 25 includes north and east Minnehaha County, including the cities of Dell Rapids, Baltic, Garretson, Colton, Lyons, Valley Springs and Rowena. It also includes an area of eastern Sioux Falls near South Sycamore Avenue. •
