• At a welcome back celebration earlier in the week, Kurth had this to say.
• "I don't smile often. I want to thank everyone, the crowd was amazing. I expected it to be good, but this was special. This community is so good to us, every person and every child really helps this baseball program."
• Tonight Kurth again stressed the importance of the community support.
• "Having nine championships says something about a community," Kurth said. "No other community in the state can claim more than five (State B titles) ."
• Kurth also thanked the Groton American Legion fort their support of the Groton Baseball Program.
