Warrant issued for SD man involved in fatal crash

• PICKSTOWN, S.D. (AP) -- The South Dakota Highway Patrol says alcohol was involved in a fatal crash near Pickstown that killed two researchers with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
• Charles Mix County prosecutor Thomas Deadrick said Monday than an arrest warrant was issued for Ronald Ray Fischer Jr. on two counts of vehicular homicide.
• The patrol says Fischer of Lake Andes had a blood alcohol content more than twice the legal limit, when the vehicle he was driving struck and killed Robert Klumb of Pierre and Maegen Spindler of Cazenovia, N.Y. on July 8.
• Troopers say Fischer's vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign at a highway intersection and then traveled into a parking lot, where it hit Klumb and Spindler.

SD Lottery officials warn of Mega Millions scam

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- South Dakota Lottery officials are warning players not to be taken in by a scam that promises them winnings from a second-chance Mega Millions drawing.
• The Lottery has been notified by more than a dozen lotto or scratch-ticket winners who have received telephone calls from someone claiming to be from the South Dakota Dakota Lottery. The caller advised the players that their prizes made them eligible for a second-chance drawing in the Mega Millions game and that lottery officials would deliver a $5 million prize to them.
• State Lottery Director Norm Lingle says people who receive such calls should not provide callers with personal information, including credit card and bank account numbers. He says anyone receiving such a call should contact the Lottery or a law enforcement agency.

Trafficking symposium planned for Sioux Falls

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Law enforcement officials, social service workers and health care providers will gather in Sioux Falls on Friday to discuss human trafficking.
• The daylong "Human Trafficking in the Dakotas" symposium at the Sanford Education Center will feature panel discussions, open sessions with invited guests and
