• "I think it's clear that I have fought government. I have fought bureaucracy and I have learned you can't run from doing what is right simply because the odds are against you," she said of her past experiences with the board.
• Bosworth said there is no denying that the health care system is broken, but that the new federal health care law is not the way to go.
• "The only place the federal government has in health care is to serve those who cannot serve themselves. ... Americans need the right to choose a health care plan that has high deductibles and premiums and ones that have low deductibles and low premiums," she said. "They need the right to choose between plans that cover all medical procedures and those that cover only major medical procedures."
• She added that health care plans must be portable and not tied to a job or state.
• Bosworth will formally announce her candidacy Tuesday in Plankinton.
• Rick Weiland is the only Democratic candidate to announce he's seeking the nomination for the U.S. seat. Weiland was a staffer for former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle.

Iowa Energy named Timberwolves' D-League affiliate

• MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The Iowa Energy will be the Minnesota Timberwolves' NBA Development League affiliate for the 2013-14 season.
• The NBA announced the move Monday.
• This is the first season the teams have been paired as affiliates to develop young players. The Timberwolves had been paired with the Sioux Falls Skyforce for the previous seven seasons.
• The Iowa Energy are entering their seventh season in the NBDL. The team, owned by a group of Iowa businessmen, won the NBDL title in 2011.
• The franchise tied a league record with four consecutive playoff appearances from 2008-2011.

AG says officers justified in shooting suspect

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- Attorney General Marty Jackley says three law enforcement officers were justified in shooting a man following a chase in southwestern South Dakota.
• Jackley and the Division of Criminal Investigation were asked to look into the June 17 incident. Jackley says the Division of Criminal Investigation determined that the two Pennington County deputies and Highway Patrol officer were justified in
