• Groton's Firecracker 18-Hole Alternate Ball Golf Tournament had a large turnout on Thursday with 43 couples playing in four flights.
• The Championship flight was won by Scott and Jackie Witlock with a 72. The First Flight was won by Jim and Heidi Ruch with a 77 and Randy and Sue Stanley won the Second Flight with a 88. A 96 was good for a first place finish for Mike and Terri Traxinger in the Third Flight.
• Julie Hinds was the Closest to the Pin on #4 for the ladies and Jonathon Fliehs was Closest to the Pin on #8 for the men. Helen Plumage had the Longest Putt of the day on #9 . Austin Schuelke won the Putting Contest.
• Schuelke Farms helped sponsor the event at the Olive Grove Golf Course. The next Tournament will be on July 13. It is the GGA Tournament to help raise funds for the Groton High School Golf Team.
