• U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says 10 people were arrested as a part of an investigation dubbed "Operation Black Widow" by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
• Eight of the suspects are from Watertown, one is from Sioux Falls and one is from Deadwood. They range in age from 31 to 72. They face charges ranging from conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine to wire fraud to weapons counts. Six have been released from custody under conditions but four have been detained.
• Johnson says the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, the state crime bureau and local law agencies helped in the investigation.

Authorities ID SD man who died while fishing

• RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- Authorities have identified a Spearfish man who died while fishing at Pactola Lake in southwestern South Dakota, but they still don't know how he died.
• Thirty-nine-year-old Daniel Eatman died Wednesday afternoon. Authorities say he was fishing with a relative when he collapsed and fell into the water. He was pronounced dead en route to a Rapid City hospital.
• Officials say preliminary results of an autopsy were inconclusive and more testing is planned.

Pakistanis go to the polls in historic election marred by violence; 16 killed in attacks

• ISLAMABAD (AP) -- Defying the danger of militant attacks, Pakistanis streamed to the polls Saturday for a historic vote pitting a former cricket star against a two-time prime minister and an unpopular incumbent. But attacks that killed 16 people and wounded dozens more underlined the risks many people took just casting their ballots.
• The violence was a continuation of what has been a brutal election season with more than 130 people killed in bombings and shootings. Some are calling this one of the deadliest votes in the country's history.
• Despite the violence, many see the election -- the country's first transition between an elected government fulfilling its term to another -- as a key step to solidify civilian rule for a country that has experienced three military coups.
• Twin blasts in the port city of Karachi targeted the political offices of the Awami
