Groton girls wins both games over Mobridge-Pollock

• It was the battle of the Tigers in Mobridge on Saturday with Groton coming home with a pair of wins.
• Groton won the varsity game, 57-20, and the junior varsity game by a score of 31-18.
• Groton led at the quarter breaks in the varsity game at 16-7, 31-10 and 46-17.
• Courtney Kurtz led the varsity girls with 15 points, eight steals, five assists and four rebounds. Camille Sippel had a dozen points, two steals, two assists and six rebounds. Tori Bjerke came off the bench to add 10 points and had five rebounds and one steal. Kylie Hawkins had eight points, five rebounds, one steal and one assist. Regan Lewandowski added six points, had one rebound and two assists. Carly Wheeting had four points and one steal. Natalia Dohman had two points and two rebounds.
• Groton made 42 percent of its field goals, was nine of 16 from the line off of Mobridge's 15 team fouls, 34 rebounds, 15 steals, 13 assists, 10 turnovers and 18 team fouls with no one fouling out.
• Groton had little trouble winning the junior varsity game, 31-18. Groton led at the quarterbreaks at 13-0, 18-7 and 26-11.
• Tori Bjerke led Groton with 11 points followed by Carly Wheeting with six, Kaili Aberle had five, Natalia Dohman had four Rachel Blackmun and Jaden Oliver each had two points and Maryn Howard added a free throw.

• In a game not reported on with Roncalli, the Cavaliers won the C game, 24-16. Audrey Wanner led Groton with seven points followed by Jaden Oliver with three and Katie Koehler, Kaili Aberle and Emily Locke with two points each.
