• Groton jumped out to a 21-5 first quarter lead and never looked back as the lady Tigers posted a 57-30 win over Tiospa Zina Monday in Groton. The Tigers led, 31-14 at halftime and 44-19 after three quarters.
• Courtney Kurtz had a double-double on the night with 13 points, 14 rebounds and also had nine assists and four steals. Camille Sippel led the Tigers with 14 points and grabbing five rebounds. Carly Wheeting came off the bench to add eight points, including six in the first quarter, and had six rebounds and one steal. Kylie Hawkins had seven points, three rebounds and three steals. Tori Bjerke added five free throws and had seven rebounds and one steal. Regan Lewandowski had four points, seven rebounds and three steals. Halle Dohman added three points, had one rebound, two steals and one assist. Erica Schuster had two points, one rebound and two steals. Rachel Blackmun had one point and one rebound. Ashley Gibbs had one assist.
• Groton made 20 of 60 field goals 17 of 27 free throws off of Tiospa Zina's 22 team fouls, had 45 rebounds, 16 steals, 11 assists and 13 turnovers.
• Tiospa Zina was led in scoring by Brenna Jackson with 14 points while Kion Redday had nine and Jacque Jackson added seven.
• Groton won the junior varsity game, 24-11. Ashley Gibbs and Tori Bjerke each had six points, Carly Wheeting had five, Maryn Howard four, Marlee Jones two and Jaden Oliver added one point.
• The Lady Tigers will host Redfield/Doland on Friday.
