• "Many Groton parents have jobs outside of Groton," Doeden said. "This makes it hard to pick up and drop off their children at day care or dance class or whatever."
• Doeden went of the say that there are still ways that the Groton Transit can serve the community, not only in town, but in rural areas too.

• Also speaking at the appreciation event was Bob Johnson, who is on the transit board of directors. Johnson reminded everyone that one way to help the transit is to send money to the memorial fund in the name of a friend or love one.
• "Marvel and I have been doing this for some time now," Johnson said. "Every time the bus goes by, we can be reminded of the person we sent in a donation for."
