SD Gov. Dennis Daugaard casts early ballot
• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard has cast his ballot early for this year's general election. • The Republican governor and first lady Linda Daugaard voted early Wednesday at the Hughes County Courthouse in Pierre. • Daugaard says he often votes early in elections because it's convenient to cast a ballot on a day that fits his schedule. He says that avoids problems that can occur if he's busy on Election Day. • With less than a week to go before Tuesday's election, Secretary of State Jason Gant's website reports that more than 61,000 early ballots have been turned in across the state. • •
Skyforce have 5 on opening-day NBA rosters
• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Five former Sioux Falls Skyforce players made opening-day rosters on NBA teams this season. • They are Amir Johnson with Toronto, Dexter Pittman with Miami, Reggie Williams with Charlotte, and Malcolm Lee and Greg Stiemsma with Minnesota. • The Skyforce is holding its 2012 NBA Development League Draft party on Friday at Tinner's Bar and Grill. Sioux Falls has the second overall pick. • The team's home opener is Saturday, Nov. 24, against the Iowa Energy at the Sioux Falls Arena. •
Summit League hoops tourneys stay in Sioux Falls
• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- The Summit League and the Sioux Falls Sports Authority have reached an agreement to keep the league's basketball tournaments in South Dakota's largest city at least through 2017. • The agreement includes a mutual option for five more years that could keep the tournaments in Sioux Falls through 2022.
