• The film footage features audio recording of President Kennedy's speech at the dedication of the dam on Aug. 17, 1962. It also includes footage of various stages of the Oahe Dam's construction. The film will be shown at 2 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.
• State archivist Chelle Somsen says showing the film footage is part of an effort to draw attention to historical collections and preservation efforts to protect South Dakota's history. Gov. Dennis Daugaard earlier declared October as Archives Month.

South Dakota State beats Youngstown State 41-28

• BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) -- Austin Sumner threw for five touchdowns, Zach Zenner ran for another and South Dakota State lit up the scoreboard in the second quarter Saturday with a 41-28 victory over Youngstown State.
• Sumner completed 19 of 28 passes for 351 yards and five touchdowns, three of which came in the 28-point second quarter for the Jackrabbits. Zenner carried the ball 17 times for 87 yards and a second quarter touchdown.
• South Dakota State (6-2, 4-1 Missouri Valley) led 41-7 after Sumner found Aaron Rollin for a 49-yard touchdown strike only 1:37 into the third quarter. It was the fifth different receiver found by Sumner for a touchdown. Rollin had three catches for 108 yards and the score.
• Youngstown State (4-4, 1-4) put up a fight, scoring 21 unanswered points to end the game. Will Shaw caught 10 balls for 120 yards and a touchdown in the loss for the Penguins.

South Dakota burn victim sues Neb. county, village

• OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- A South Dakota man who was burned by a controlled grass fire in the Nebraska border town of Whiteclay has filed a negligence lawsuit against local authorities.
• Bryan Bluebird, 51, of Pine Ridge, says in the lawsuit, filed in federal court, that authorities failed to spot him lying in a field and ignited the blaze on a dangerously windy day.
• The lawsuit wasn't without warning. Six months ago, Bluebird filed a tort-claim notice with Sheridan County and the Rushville Fire Department in northwest Nebraska. Bluebird's attorney, Tom White of Omaha, said the entities did not respond to the claim, giving Bluebird the right to sue.
• Bluebird is suing the county, fire department, the village of Rushville and various
