Groton's street lights along US Highway 12 underwent an inspection yesterday. A crew was hired by the state to inspect the integrity of the street light poles along the federal highways. They checked the fixtures for defects and also dug around each base to make sure the base is solid.

The new transformer was lifted into place yesterday at the south substation in Groton. The new dual voltage transformer will serve the community for decades to come.
