equipment and the importance of practicing fire safety. • Trent Anderson of the Groton and Aberdeen Fire Departments visited the classrooms to show that while firemen may look and sound scary in all their gear, firemen are really friends and are there to help. • The students then traveled to the Groton Fire Hall to see some of the equipment firemen use to fight fires and to see the fire engines. Students learned about the different types of hoses and nozzles used to fight fires and about some of the special equipment like the Jaws of Life and the special pumps used to bring water into the trucks at a rural fire. • Members of the Groton Fire Department that helped with the tour were Trent Anderson, Laef Johnson, Tyler Kampa, Ryan Kutter, Eric Moody and Brad Waage.
