• Holly Hoffman, of Eureka, SD and of the TV show "Survivor" spoke to a large crowd in Groton on Sept. 11. Her enthusiastic speech was laced with slogans and inspirational thoughts which enrich peoples lives.
• She made it to day 38 of the required 39 and was the next to being the survivor. They were away from home for two months. At the end her husband was flown to meet her.
• Her goal has been to be an inspirational speaker.  She said, "Don't wait for opportunity to fall into your lap"  and "Never let the odds keep you from doing something you want to do." 

• The group was taken to the jungles of Nicaragua where they were dropped in the middle of nowhere -  given tents, little food and tried to survive.
