as patch-burn grazing projects at Dailey Crystal Springs Ranch and TNC's 7-Mile Fen in Deuel County. Overall research efforts will involve rangeland production, cattle stocking rates, productivity, and economics. Work with organizations and learning communities such as the South Dakota Grassland Coalition, the Great Plains Patch Burn Grazing Network, the Grassland Restoration Network, the Natural Resource Conservation Service, the Fire Learning Network, and the Prairie Coteau Habitat Partnership will be a primary focus. • A primary role will be to disseminate current rangeland research and best management practices to rangeland managers in South Dakota. Bauman will be actively engaged in understanding policy issues surrounding rangelands as directed by state and federal agencies. He will be stationed out of the SDSU Extension Regional Center in Watertown, and be part of a range management team, along with State Extension Range Specialists, that develops and delivers proactive Extension range management programs.
