Christian music fans gather for LifeLight festival
• WORTHING, S.D. (AP) -- Hundreds of thousands of Christian music fans will be gathering in the small South Dakota community of Worthing this weekend for the 15th anniversary edition of the LifeLight Music Festival. • The three-day event, which is billed as the nation's largest Christian rock festival, will feature seven stages of music and more than 100 bands. Some 350,000 people attended over three days last year. • Headliners on the main stage this year include Skillet, Tenth Avenue North and Peter Furler with Phil Joel. • Admission and parking is free. •
Crazy Horse offering free admission over Labor Day
• CRAZY HORSE MEMORIAL, S.D. (AP) -- Crazy Horse Memorial is offering free admission to see the mountain carving during the Labor Day weekend. • The memorial in the southern Black Hills will waive admission fees Saturday through Monday for people who contribute cash or canned food to a Rapid City, S.D., food drive. • The memorial is a mountain carving in progress that will honor Oglala Lakota warrior Crazy Horse. Work on the sculpture began in 1948. •
