Hot temperatures and breezy southerly winds will be felt across the area today ahead of an approaching cold front. This front will be responsible for igniting a few showers and thunderstorms across western and central South Dakota late this afternoon, with the activity pushing east through the area during the evening and overnight hours. Very high fire danger will also exist today across central South Dakota, due to the gusty winds and low relative humidity.
