Matt Stephan would hit a single to score Mears and Lambrechts would advance to second. At this point, Coach Travis Kurth would bring Thorson to the mound. Hammer would hit a single to load the bases. Gomer strikes out and Boerger hits a sacrifice to score Lambrechts. Waletich would fly out to center field as the side is retired. Groton won the game, 7-3.
