• Taylor Boerger would hit a double to get on base for Milbank in the bottom of the third, but he would not score as Groton continued to lead, 2-0, after three innings.
• Eric May would be walked in the fourth inning and would score when Weston Hoglund would hit a double. A Milbank error would allow Hoglund to score and for Brandon Stanley to get on base. Thorson would hit a single but Stanley was snagged out at third on the play as Groton added two more runs.
• Jorgensen walks Nick Mears, but gets even as he picks him off at first. Matt Stephan would hit a double but that's where he stays as Landon Hammer is struck out. Groton leads, 4-0, af

• The only excitement in the bottom of the fifth is when Zach Waletich would hit a home run over the right field fence. After five innings, Groton leads, 5-1.
