• Groton remains undefeated in the American Legion regional baseball tournament underway this weekend.
• Groton defeated Volga, 14-2, in five innings.
• Groton scored 14 runs on 11 hits and had no errors. Pitcher Jamie Jorgensen had nine strike-outs, two walks, three hits and two runs.
• Volga scored two runs on three hits and had five errors.
• Matt Thorson had three hits which included a double and a three RBI home run, Ryan Delzer and Eric May each had a double and a single, Kalen Kjellsen had a double and Brandon Stanley, Jamie Jorgenson and Dalton Locke each had a hit.
• Groton then shut out Redfield in five innings, 12-0. Groton scored 12 runs on nine hits while Redfield had two hits and no errors.
• Eric May pitched this game, having five strike-outs, three walks and two hits. Delzer was the catcher for both games. May had a double and a single, Kjellsen had two singles, Stanley and Thorson each had a double, Delzer had a triple and Jorgensen and Michael Erickson each had a hit.
