She would even buy the lot for her dog. City policy states that a body has to be in a vault to cremated; however, the council could not decide if a dog should be buried at the cemetery. Lowary will check with other cemeteries in the area to see if they allow animals to be buried in their cemetery. • One completed newspaper quote was presented to the council. The Groton Independent had submitted a quote. Kathy Sundermeyer, publisher of the Dakota Press, forgot about the quote so she wrote on a piece of paper, "Same as last year." and presented that to the council. Lowary had to look up the quotes from last year. Both papers were designated as official newspapers at the Groton Independent quote. • The official banks will be First State Bank, Dacotah Bank, Well Fargo and South Dakota Fit (Funds Investment Trust). • After an executive session, the council authorize the Mayor to sign the contract with Clark Engineering for $20,000 for a study of the West Ditch (creek) elevations and drainage upon the receipt of the James River Water Development District grant matching funds for the study.
