Dakotas tribes get federal environmental grants
• BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- Two American Indian tribes in the Dakotas are getting grants through a federal environmental program. • The Environment Protection Agency is giving $200,000 each to the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa and the Standing Rock Sioux. The money is part of $69 million in grants being doled out to clean and develop contaminated properties, protect public health and create jobs. • The Turtle Mountain tribe will use the money to clean up an abandoned administration building near Belcourt that is contaminated by mold and unknown chemi
