USDA: Rain good for crops but slowing planting
• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Rain is slowing planting progress in some areas of South Dakota, but the moisture is helping crop development. • The U.S. Department of Agriculture says in the latest crop and weather report that the past week offered 3.9 days suitable for field work. Major activities included planting of row crops, lining up seed delivery, weed control, caring for livestock, calving and lambing.
