Erin Sternhagen, daughter of Craig and Jodi Sternhagen, Groton, is the recipient of the Aberdeen Zonta Club's Young Women in Public Affairs Award (YWPA). Erin, a senior in Groton High School, is active in concert band, jazz band, chamber choir, concert choir, and show choir. She has been a member of All-State Jazz band all four years of high school as well as being chosen for All State Chorus. Erin also plays soccer and is a lifeguard at the Groton City Pool. She plans to attend USD and major in biology and minor in Spanish. The Young Women in Public Affairs Award, established in 1990, honors young women between the ages of 16 to 19, who demonstrate a commitment to leadership in public policy, government, and volunteer organizations.
