Meeting Minutes

Town of Westport General Meeting

January 8th 2018

The Town of Westport met on January 8th, 2018 with Tim Selzler, Shane Storm, Mike Wilson, and Doreen Hertel present. 

 The following expenses were presented:

City General

NWPS ($430.88), Groton Independent ($13.40), SD Unemployment Insurance ($10.92), US treasury ($460.84) Postmaster-Stamps ($302.00) & US treasury ($56.16).

Sewer

NWPS ($47.51), NRWA –loan repayment ($210.13), & SDDENR ($50.00)

Water

WEB ($1,001.21), Dept. of Revenue ($15.00) & Water Maintenance District ($321.43) 

Tim Selzler made motion to pay all bills; second by Mike Wilson.

The following deposits were presented:

City General

Brown County Collections ($1,399.74), The Shed ($900.00), State of SD ($852.01), Interest ($25.69), & Sacred Heart Church ($1,514.80).

Sewer

Resident Payments- ($1,679.00).

Water

Resident Payments – ($3,067.07).

NEW BUSINESS:

The city is working on replacing street signs that are missing or that have been down.

  Pump 1 at the lift station has been going turning off.  So a discussion was held on the sewer project.  It was voted on just to have the lift station done.  Mike made the motion to approve the lift station project and Tim seconded the motion.  

It was approved by all members of the board to raise the hourly rate to $20.00 for city maintenance or repair for board members.  They were coming back while working and losing that income from their jobs.
